About the Author: Dr. Gerhard Plenert

Dr. Gerhard Plenert, former Director of Executive Education at the Utah State University Shingo Institute, has over 25 years of professional experience in organizational transformations. He has helped companies and government agencies strive for enterprise excellence by utilizing the Shingo Model to drive cultural transformations. An internationally recognized expert in supply chain management, Lean/Six Sigma, IT, quality, and productivity tools, Dr. Plenert has consulted for major corporations such as Genentech, Johnson & Johnson, Shell, Sony, Cisco, and the US Air Force.

With 14 years of academic experience, Dr. Plenert has published over 150 articles and 22 books on Lean, supply chain strategy, and operations management. His ideas and publications have been endorsed by industry leaders and companies such as Steven Covey, Motorola, and FedEx. Dr. Plenert's transition to fiction began with the fantasy Small World Series, and he has since ventured into mystery and suspense novels. He continues to serve as a Shingo examiner and an Adjunct Faculty member for several universities and proudly serves as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
